Band line-up: Ian McCulloch - guitar, vocals Will Sergeant - lead guitar Les Pattinson - bass Pete de Freitas - drums Notes: Courtesy of the Stonecutter Archives is another ferocious early Bunnygig. The strength of these earlier shows lay in Mac's restraint from freely throwing in his influences. Here it's the usual short bits of Del Shannon's "Runaway" in "Over the Wall," and when he can't help himself then the Doors and James Brown in the middle of "Do It Clean," and then a quick nod to Mark E. Smith in "Heaven Up Here." Other than that, it's straight ahead and lean performance. Even though there's some moderate distance from the recorder to the stage, the sporadic talking on the tape doesn't detract from one's attention to the rock solid drumming of Pete de Freitas, which sounds like a freight train barreling through on songs like "Crocodiles" and the encores. After ascending the heights of the heavens up there, the end of the show propels back down and winds off. Enjoy, elegymart Dimeadozen.org: Torrent 635124 (by elegymart)
