Created this text file. Band line-up: Ian McCulloch - guitar, vocals Will Sergeant - lead guitar Les Pattinson - bass Pete de Freitas - drums Notes: Courtesy of the Stonecutter Archives is this last stop along the Bunnymen spring tour of 1988, playing in a civic hall that was probably packed to its 1770-seat capacity. Ending on a high note with what was a strong and lengthy final performance, and with the band effectively splitting up at this point, this spelled the end of EATB Phase I. Mac quit the band the day after this, as his ailing father had passed away while Mac was on the flight back home from Japan. Quality of this recording leaves something to be desired, as it sounds a little distant, thin and brittle in parts. "The Cutter" had about four dropouts in it, and there is hiss evident throughout. "Sweet Jane" was cut off on one tape, and the remainder of it, also incomplete, filled out the rest of what's here, but that latter part appears to be a processed stereo from the mono recording and the last few remaining minutes of de Freitas's drumming in Echo didn't make it onto the tape. The boys have a hard time getting "Heads Will Roll" and "New Direction" started, but they put on an energetic show, including a bit of goofing around with a siren when they come back out for encores, and which they use again in "Do It Clean" while tossing in a lick from "Tequila" in their eleven-minute workout. Mac throws in the usual bit of "Heroin" to kick off "Ocean Rain." Intermittent squeals of Japanese Bunnymania pierce the air here and there. Warts and all, this one still has a historic significance to it. Enjoy, elegymart Dimeadozen.org: Torrent 633650 (by elegymart)
