Funtime / After Hours [4:49] Timeline notes: -event: 4 November 1986 'Superman' 7" & 12" Single is released in the US -Peter Buck played guitar on 'She Said She Said' (Beatles cover) during The Feelies set. Grade: A+ -A fantastic Aud recording (see hat comment). Excellent dynamics, You can hear every detail. I haven't done an A/B with the legendary JEMS recordings of this tour but if the JEMS recordings were bettered by any in 1986, this would be the one. It's that good. I believe this has been torrented before, but there seems to be two versions of this show out there. The more widespread of the two sounds like it was eq'd to knock the hiss down. Unfortunately this took some top end with it. The bigger issue with said version is it contains a lot of static and pops. The text file associated with it claims that these are present on the master but that is not the case. The version presented here seems to be untouched. There is hiss, but high end is present, static free and no pops were noted at all. This brings us to the other question about this show. Is it a David O Thomas recording? It certainly fits in with what he was doing at the time (recording a lot of R.E.M. on the east coast). I messaged with one of his frequent cohorts here at Dime who could not confirm it as Dave's. I've messaged with collectors who said it is Dave's. Hoping to settle this debate here and provide credit where it's due. Dimeadozen.org: Torrent 681134 (by nakeddave)
