Lineage: Belkin TuneTalk Stereo->iPod->Sound Studio->AIFF->xACT->FLAC Show notes: R.E.M.'s final New York City show and the band don't disappoint with a terrific setlist - the mid set sequence of Rockville / Driver 8 / Harborcoat / The One I Love would surely have satisfied all the IRS years fans (plus Pretty Persuasion to come later in the set). The show also featured perhaps not surprisingly a rare for 2008 performance of Leaving New York. A terrific show to farewell a city that had they had been touring since 1981. Recording notes: Like the 14 June 2008 Wantagh show, this was also recorded by blegdave using the same equipment. While he didn't have to contend with rain on this night, he had to deal with a much rowdier audience around him, and they can be heard quite a bit on the recording - not all the time, but not infrequently either. I'm not sure where he was sitting, but he also wasn't quite in the same sweet spot that he was for the Wantagh show. Still it's a pretty decent recording, just spoilt by some loud people around him. Given no other recording of this show ever surfaced, it's better than nothing. If you just want the best 2008 recordings and aren't collecting all the shows, I'd skip this one just because of the annoying crowd around him. In all honesty unless you were there you're probably not going to listen to it more than once. Torrent notes: Dime user blegdave recorded and seeded this back in June 2008. This was his second attempt after his first apparently suffered from poor sound quality and some songs weren't separated properly. I haven't heard that version so I can't comment on it. I have tagged the files, added a poster of the show and new ffp and md5 files. The recording itself is untouched. Enjoy! Dimeadozen.org: Torrent 674736 (by eckythump)
