Fragile [5:04] Lineage: Roland CS-10EM binaural omnis > Tascam DR-05 (recording at 24-48, 80 Hz low pass, recording level 1 for main set, recording level 2 for pre-set) > FinalCD v0.17 (convert to 16-44.1; sharp, 100 Hz transition filter; shaped TPDF dither) > edit Line-up: Sting - bass, vocals, acoustic guitar on "Fragile" Dominic Miller - guitars Josh Freese - drums Rufus Miller - guitars, background vocals, bass on "Fragile" Percy Cardona - squeezebox Joe Sumner - background vocals, tambourine, vocals on "Ashes To Ashes" unknown male - background vocals, tambourine Notes: Recorded from the floor about 20 m from the stage, very slightly off center to Dominic's side. Lots of clapping along on this one. I couldn't move. But it could be worse. At least it's mostly in rhythm. Very Police heavy setlist. "Synchronicity II" is such a melancholy song (in a way) already that, to me, Dominic's new guitar part was almost a bit too much to take emotionally for a set opener. But hats off to him for this fresh idea. Josh Freese is simply awesome, a force of nature. I hope he stays on the team for a long time. He even manages to breathe some new life into "Every Breath You Take" with his new C part. I was a little disappointed that "Down, Down, Down" was dropped from the setlist, I would have liked to hear this live, great lyric and vocals on the record.
