We have good news, and we have bad news on this one. First, the good news...for those who like to have "one of everything", this is probably the first version of this show to be torrented with known taper and lineage, and the third altogether to be torrented. Previously torrented versions included: 1. "Joshua Tree Cleveland" -- it has a COMPLETE version of '40", so is NOT the one Justin Cook described as being "Joshua Tree Cleveland", since as noted below, on THAT version, '40' was cut off. It is a bit distant, and has its share of screamers. There was no indication of source, lineage, taper, etc. 2. A second torrented version had listed lineage defined as "Master cassette > CDR(M) > CDR(1) > CDR(2) > WAV (EAC) > FLAC (TLH)", the taper and equipment not identified. THIS one DOES correlate with Justin's description of "Joshua Tree Cleveland": "This is a decent audience recording of a great Joshua Tree concert. 'Streets' is joined in progress, with the recording gradually fading in beginning with The Edge's guitar intro and never quite seems to reach full volume. '40' fades out after only 1:46. In between, the band performs energetically. Crowd noise is a factor, as chatter can be heard from time to time. Sound clarity could certainly be better, but it's hard to expect much more given the rarity of this concert in any medium." By the way, as an aside, sure wish we could again find Justin Cook, his web pages were an invaluable resource for U2 bootleg collectors. 3. There may be a third version, U2gigs.com shows cover art for a "MattFromCanada" version with no other relevant information, but if this exists, it has never been shared at a torrent site. Another "go-to" reference site, https://achtungbootlegs.u2start.com, has no bootleg for this show listed. And now the bad news...THIS recording has some minor defects. First of all, it's a bit muffled, though probably rates a generic B+ overall. And...not sure if the taper's mics got disconnected transiently, or whether he intentionally or unintentionally stopped his recorder briefly...but there were extremely brief gaps at the beginning of October, and Pride. There are VERY brief skips in SBS at 5:03 and 5:22. The gaps have been removed, but it means the very beginning of October and Pride are missing. In addition, of the two previously torrented unsourced versions, both contained "40" as the final track, but that is completely omitted here. So, with that background at hand, as always, it's everyone's personal decision as to whether or not to download. U2Torrents.com: Torrent 11031 (by petergoode)
