Outro [2:30] Total Running Time: [2:27:26] Source 1: 5x IEM receivers > Multitrack recorder Taper: Hoserama/Sharebear Source 2: CA-14 > Battery Box > Tascam 2D Taper: DJ Soulless Mixed, Produced, and Mastered by Sharebear/Hoserama Aligned in Adobe Audition Mixed in Reaper, using extra waves and Ozone plug-ins Dithered using Izotope MBIT+ Flac'ed using Trader's Little Helper Mix Version 20200104 (Dry & Wet) Mix Notes: This set has two alternate mixes compared to the "Goldilocks" mix I already released. 1. Dry Mix - No Audience recording, No extra audience sauce from the IEMs. Parallel compression track cut in half. Sounds like a pretty clean soundboard type. Some very minor crowd noise from the IEMs, but minimal. 2. Wet Mix - Complete opposite of Dry. Cranked the audience recording, boosted the paralllel compression. For the folks that like more of an enhanced audience recording sound. Show Report: Out of the three 2019 shows I saw, this was the best show. Good energy, Gloria is always a great live track, solid performance overall. They worked for a while on Gloria at soundcheck (also the new single Ahimsa), clearly intending to work it in that night. Just a nice representative recording of the 2019 leg. A fun trip overall. Was able to hang out with some other tapers, see a new country, get lost in the Japanese metro way too many times, and eat lots of local food. Glad I went...but was ready to come home by the end. Recording Notes: Solid multiple IEM/AUD mix of thee show. No real issues to speak of, the AUD was recorded from front row balcony, and had very little crowd noise intrusions. Got everything we wanted in terms of taping. Counts are scrubbed, but you might hear the occasional artifact. Clicks are mostly scrubbed, although there will be a bit of a remainder in sections. It's always a compromise, and I'd rather remove 90% of the metronome and leave the music intact instead of removing 99% of metronome and damaging the music. I spotted 4-5 Japanese IEM tapers around the venue during soundcheck time. It was a nice taper convention at these two shows. There are several other recordings of this show. There's several audience recordings. Another appears to be an SDR IEM recording (likely from outside) with a fair amount of static/clicks. The other is the Xavel source, which is a Bono feed and AUD. That recording has more room hall sound, so might be a preferred flavor for some. Overall, I feel this mix is a significant upgrade on the existing sources, but some might prefer the flavor of the other mixes. At the very least, this mix doesn't have the clicks and counts. In any case, it's never bad to have a wealth of options! As always, encouraging people to get into taping and mixing. Just take the craft seriously and it will reward you many times over. There's no point in complaining about missing recordings or subpar quality if you're not contributing--pushing 1's and 0's around on the internet is no comparison for taping. IEM recordings are not for everyone. If not they're not your thing, either sonically or ethically, there's excellent alternative recordings out there. Similarly, I'm mixing primarily for my ears. This is what sounds best to me. This may not sound best to you. That's a fair statement. I'm open to honest criticism (although you should have caught me when I was working on the mix!), but pointless complaining is unappreciated (naturally). Let's play nice. Or maybe lug in recording equipment and make an alternate mix of your own sources. Please don't sell this recording in any way - no cash for blanks, 2:1s, or any other form of "getting paid for your time". Just share it freely. Please don't convert to mp3, then back to wave, and then trade it around. This stuff is too easy to find on torrents now. Feel free to remaster/remix this recording. Just keep it to your own computer and iPod. Also, please don't torrent or share on other sites without at least dropping me a line and asking. This includes Youtube! I may want to just torrent/share it there myself. This includes sites like guitars101! Just ask permission, it's not that hard. Please ask (and wait for permission!) before putting it into any matrix + video production. If you ask nicely for a quality high-res video project, I will likely say yes. If you put it on YouTube or cell phone video production without asking, I will send my cats from hell to chew your computer cables. And if you're a Brazilian with a name that starts with V, and rhymes with tree, you do not have permission to use it for any video project (how much more clear do I need to get?!) Enjoy y'all!
