Note:
Some thoughts. The Sphere is impressive even for Las Vegas standards. It will be an iconic part of the Las Vegas Strip. The interior was really amazing, and they had a lot of food & drink stands, bathrooms & merch stands - so waiting was never an issue. The staff was super nice and helpful. The seats are at a steep pitch, so the people in front of you don't block your view, and the 360 nature of the visuals means that people have a good view. Sound was really good as well. Performance wise, there were a few glitches & broken guitar strings, Bono at points seemed a little stressed out and distracted - but at other points was spot on. Opening night jitters I suppose. Of course, performing without Larry probably was a bit strange for the band too. There were a couple of points where the set didn't exactly flow right, but they will probably sort that out. I suspect that this was the first night, everyone had a bit of nerves and that they will tighten up the few loose parts of the show. Summary - amazing venue and probably only U2 could have been the band to pull off the opening night. I think the shows will only get stronger and better.
