INFORMATION: 
I previously upscaled this show using a BBC rebroadcast capture. This upscale utilizes a different source, a 2002 Japanese DVD. I'm always looking for the subjectively "best" source for upscales and had hoped to determine a superior version to declare an "UPGRADE." In this case, both of the upscales have their merits, with no clear winner. One distinction of the Japanese DVD source is that the BBC logo was not stamped on every frame. Another is that the Pete Drummond introduction on the BBC rebroadcast has been edited out in the Japanese DVD. The final obvious difference is in the editing, as the setlist has been reordered. I realize that these logos must be helpful guides, in the event that you forget which channel you're watching, but they are an unpleasant distraction.

SOURCE: 
2002 Japanese DVD release on VAP Video (VPBR-11523) that was kindly provided by mx2025. NTSC 720x480i @ 29.970 FPS and an average bit rate of 7 Mb/s. This was received as already extracted to MKV file with 16-bit PCM 2.0 audio.

PROCESSING: 
Vapoursynth QTGMC de-interlacing with simultaneous PAR conversion to 1:1. Proper upscale to 1080p, with appropriate cropping and removal of noise and compression artifacts. All intermediate video processing was carried out in lossless (FFV1, 10-bit) format. Final video conversion/compression using 10-bit H.265/MKV. The source PCM 2.0 was converted to both FLAC 2.0 and Opus 192kbps 2.0 tracks. The FLAC and Opus tracks were re-muxed into the final video render. Chapter points were named according to song selections. Poster art was modified to reflect the "Alternative Version."

NOTES:
